1000Base LX SFP is the small form factor pluggable fiber transceiver modules which are compliant to IEEE standards for 1000Base LX. LX here refers to long wave, which is usually 1300nm or 1310nm for the 1000Base LX applications. As described in IEEE 802.3, 1000Base LX SFP works with both SMF and MMF.

1000Base LX SFP typical product is like Cisco SFP transceiver GLC LH SM and SFP GE L. GLC LH SM is a transceiver for LX/LH applications at 1300nm working wavelength. SFP GE L is the 1000Base LX SFP using 1310nm wavelength. They are both LC interface hot swappable transceivers. SFP GE L is with extended working temperature range and could with digital optical monitoring support.
