Gigabit Ethernet SFP transceivers are hot swappable small form factor modules that are designed to use with Gigabit networks. They are compliant to IEEE 802.3 standards and these transceivers are different types to fit for 1000Base SX, LX/LH, EX and 1000Base T applications.

Typical Gigabit Ethernet SFP transceivers like the Cisco products; there are different types with various working span and operation wavelength. GLC SX MM is the multimode Gigabit Ethernet SFP transceiver, GLC LH SM will fit both SMF and MMF, GLC ZX SM is a single mode 1000Base SFP with a longer working distance, theoretically it could reach 100km max. GLC T is for 1000Base T applications, it is a copper wire SFP.  Cisco also developed the SFP GE series transceivers; these Gigabit Ethernet SFP transceivers are with extended operation temperature range and with DOM (Digital Optical Monitoring) support. We supply Cisco equivalent Gigabit Ethernet SFP products; they are fully compatible to the products from Cisco or other suppliers.
