Judge Fiber Optic Media Converter Quality
Media converters are very commonly seen products in the fiber optic market. Typically used in Ethernet, this small device offers an economic way of fiber-copper signal transformation. 1. Check if this converter supports full duplex and half duplex. Some of the ICs used on converter can not support half duplex, if you use such types converters, when it is connected to other brands switches and HUB, it will cause data package lost.

2.Check its working temperature, some fiber optic media converters can not work properly over 50 degree centigrade, but when it works the converter itself will generate heat and cause it to be hot, so we need to check this point.

3.Check compatibility. Check from the outer appearance of the converters, some media converters sold very low prices because they are second hand ones. Check if the converter can be compatible with various kinds of fiber interfaces and other Ethernet equipment, and test whether it is compliant with the IEEE standards.

Many enterprises are still using a fiber-copper combined network to save the cost, thus fiber optic media converters still have the market, but be sure to check the quality of the products you get, especially at this time, many suppliers are actually buying the products from China and re-sell in the local market, in China there are excellent quality products and poor quality products. Be sure to get a quality products, do not let a poor quality products waste both the time and the money.
